![]() ![]() ![]() I don't consider SteamWorld Dig 2 to have any low points but Vectron is easily its highest. ![]() You find yourself tiptoeing around the environment, trying your hardest not to wake any machines but sometimes you have no choice but to risk it all and make a wild dash. Everything is hanging in a lifeless state and only our interactions will flip the tone into one of impending doom. The mood and tone of Vectron is something to be commended. You're doing your best to hop over obstacles and quickly chopping through the environment but they still continue to inch closer and closer.then just before your inventible demise the screen fills with code and we're saved from the dastardly world. It's a thrilling and terrifying change of pace and the closing segment where you're inches away from getting caught by the possessed robots is exhilarating. You'll spend most of your time in SteamWorld Dig 2 tapping away at the world in a methodical manner but in Vectron.you run, you run fast. To go from the gloomy caverns we spend most of our time in to this deserted cyber world is a shocking change of scenery and it works so well. SteamWorld Dig 2 is a game I consider to be perfectly paced from beginning to end but the Vectron segment elevates the adventure to a whole other level. I say "Ravenholm" to avoid spoilers from the first SteamWorld Dig but I believe the shift in tone to heavily reflect that of Half Life 2's Ravenholm.
